| My
first memory was when i was four, camping on the beach with my big
Maltese family being woken by the lolling sound of waves and getting up
to a sky of rising light and softness, the beauty of crystal clear
Mediterranean sea gently meeting the sandy shore in small waves, and
with my bucket and spade earnestly building sand castles.

Perhaps this is what has drawn me to my
iridescent quality of glass, a frozen liquid and to sculptural images,
moulds that involve playing with sand and stirring and mixing magical
qualities. Still trying to make my sand castles !!!

I have always been drawn back to the sea, my
first love. Spending endless summer days snorkeling in the warm Maltese
waters, even to the extent that i was once caught by a fishermans'
fishing line and got hooked in the mouth ....

| | Coming to this beloved
island of Erin was a shock to warm blooded system where the cold
Atlantic sea is concerned and spent many years trying to persuade
myself that the cold was only in my mind until wonderful Jane invited
me to swim with Mara the dolphin and lent me a wetsuit- what a
revelation this was ! .. at last i could catch up with my love of being
held and the free feeling of youth and the ever changing oceanic hues
of steel, grey and soft blues of the beautiful seaweed gardens that i
would love to explore more of.

| The sea keeps me in touch with the
ecstatic aspect of myself and always brings me great joy and deep
respect for the magnificence, power and strength that she manifests for
us and the deep unconscious world of or minds reflected in all the
mystery that she holds swimming and living within her.
